Hello All, I thought I would share a few pictures of some dice towers I made using Hirst Arts molds. They are made with Hydrostone, which is a stong plaster. They are very handy for SBH games Questions and comments welcome.

These are very nice. Thanks for posting. They show good straight construction with excellent paintjobs. The top one is my favorite, though. The battlements and the braces for the battlements really complement each other. Plus the relative thickness compared to the height gives it a more squat, threatening appearance. Was it made with the Fieldstone Octagonal mold #77? I don't have that one but now I want to get it. Also, I don't think I've ever seen the modern one. That is very cool. My son Bob is a big 40K fan, I'm sure he would love one of those. What molds did you for that? Luckyjoe

Thanks, Luckyjoe. You are correct, the first one was built with mold #77. It is my favorite as well. The modern one is pretty new. I build it for Mike from Rebelminis. It uses the Station Builder Mold #300 and a few of the pieces are from the Starship Wall Mold #301. The rocks around the dice catching area are from a mold from Woodland Scenics that is used for model railroad layouts. I picked it up at Hobby Lobby.
My next project might just be a dungeon like yours for SGD. That is a cool idea. Is it modular or fixed construction?

Thanks for the info. I'm definitely going to have to get 77. I have the station builder mold but none of the ship molds, yet. I also have the Woodland scenic rock mold I think, is it the the one that also has the big fist-sized cliff piece? Looks like I have most of the components, now I just have to find the talent. My little dungeon is fixed more than modular. The rooms are all 4x4. My little nod to modularity was to make hallways of 3", 2" and 1" length, plus a couple of T-intersections, a couple of 4-ways, and a couple of corners. Hallways are 1 inch wide between the walls. Wall height in the rooms is 2 blocks with hallway walls 1 block high. You can see a few of the modular pieces in the foreground here. i20.photobucket.com/albums/b215/Luckyjoe_/Miniatures/15%20mm/Dungeon1.jpgLuckyjoe

Thanks again, Luckyjoe. Very helpful information The Woodland Scenics mold those rocks came from has a long rock about 6 inches long by 2 inches wide, a rock about 2 inch by 2 inch, and those you see on the picture. That dungeon is getting more and more tempting. I will probably give it a shot sometime soon. Thanks again

Great! I'll let you guys know when we organize anything, in case you want to attend. I know for a fact there will be some "Song" type games at Advance the Colors in Springfield, OH, Sept. 17-19. My friend Zeke will be running his "Vault 51" there, which uses MDRG with Flying Lead modifications. Web info for the con is at: www.hmgsgl.comSeeya!

Thanks, Mike. I've never been to a con, yet. Maybe Advance the Colors in September can be my first. Luckyjoe
