Have there been any updates to the status of this game? Now that Rackham has gone into liquidation, I am really looking for a set of rules to use for all my minis. The C:AoR was just ok and I have always wanted to find something to use any and all minis I have from other various collections.

Not really able to predict when the game will be ready. The rules are there but I need some time and some people to playtest the sample armies etc. After that , It'll take me about one month to finish it and have it edited.

I can't wait for these rules to come out! I use DBA for large scale and SBH (et al.) for skirmishes in my end of empire Twilight of Britannia games. I have a lot of fun with both but there are some clunky crossovers between the two rule sets and I expect SAH to clear those up.
I have my 25mm figs individually based then blutacked onto larger ones for the large battles. Unfortunately I am committed to basing my mounted on round individual bases some 3cm across, to stop them toppling on slopes etc, so I will be interested to see how well they conform to the 8cm SAH bases: they may end up looking a bit sparse, but I can live with that!
I have been thinking of playing the big battle rules on the Yahoo group site, but will wait if these rules are due out in the not tooo distant future. The DBA rules are ones I have returned to over and over and with my mods they serve well still.

Crocus, if 8 cm square is too big for them, just make the squares smaller so they fit your troops. The number of troops on a stand has no bearing on the game. So it's just a question of aesthetics.

That's the beauty of a square basing system. As long as yours and your opponent's squares are the same size, it won't matter.

ah good - I don't want to have to rebase entirely my LOTR combat hex stuff on single bases I use in SBH!
