In preparing to play more scenarios, we found ourselves needing to tally up the points to see how they meet the guidelines of 300-350 points for the lesser monsters and 600 points for the heavyweights. We found that most of the monsters in the current roster are in serious need of some beefing up. I think simply improving the stats in some cases may be enough, but some could use additional powers.
Here are how some of the points for the current roster add up (for monsters I have figures we can use for testing), so we can compare/contrast:
Giant Radioactive Regenerating Lizard - 430 pts. Needs some beefing up to be the true king of the monsters!
Baby Radioactive Regenerating Lizard - 145 pts.
Giant Lizard-shaped mecha - 570 pts. Just needs a few slight tweaks.
Giant good Moth - 265 pts. Seems woefully underpowered for a creature that has beaten the king of the monsters.
Giant Spider - 305 pts. The legs are rather weak in combat and could use some boosting. Needs another 45 points.
Three-Headed Evil Space Dragon - 521 pts. Fearsome, but needs some boosting. After all, he is one of the ultimate villains.
Flying Atomic Space Turtle - 430 pts. Needs an increase, as he should be in the 550-600 range, correct?
Giant Monster Crab - 270 pts. Too weak. The quality 4 in the arms means he would fail activations too often with his main attack!
Giant Gorilla - 270 tps. This other famous monster needs some serious powering up.
Ultracyborg Giant Hero - 455 pts. This is plays decently and has some variety. With some boosts to some stats he will be much better equipped for battle.
Giant Pterosaur - 295 pts. I am not sure if this one should be in the 350 range or in the 600 range. He is based on a famous monster, so I am inclined to go to 600 on any based on those. Opinions?
Giant Praying Mantis - 260 pts. This should be a 350 range monster. I would add Fearless, Difficult Target, maybe Weakness to Cold and some stat increases to help boost him. I am working on an updated version to play test.
Giant Winged Sea Lizard - 240 pts.
Giant Theropod Dinosaur - 260 pts.
Giant One-Horned Ogre - 190 pts.
Giant Octopus - 195 pts.
Giant Burrowing Beetle - 355 pts. This monster looks good.
CREATURE FROM BEYOND - AMPHIBIOUS GOD - 315 pts. I was not aware of the point levels when I created him, so I will boost him to the 600 level.
Does anyone have the points added up for the rest of the roster to add to the list, so we can compare those as well? I think it is important to have a better idea of how powerful these monsters are, because some match ups will be completely one sided.
