OK, So I am trying to build some WWII forces for some Flying Lead action. Using some old leftover forgotten Flames Of War stuff, I have a German Panzergrenadier squad and a platoon's worth of American Recon stuff.
The German stuff is pretty easy, a squad of 10 with 2 MG teams and their halftrack comes in nicely at 699 points. But should I leave 3 of the guys off the roster to hang out in the halftrack? It requires a driver and two gunners.
The American Recon stuff is a bit trickier. The M3A1 White Scout Car has a squad of 7, but 3 of those guys are a mortar team. Should the mortar be assumed to stay with the vehicle, to drive and man the guns? Because by my math, I could have the scout car and four guys for around 350 points, which gives a nice little match up of Panzergrenadier squad vs. two Recon squads.
Or does having two MG-laden scout cars break the game?

Hi the german 251 would usually have a dedicated driver wit one of the squad operating the LNG at the front, the other Lmg on there would be one of the squads and usually on there for anti aircraft only as the front one would not elevate. So leave one squad member in there if you wantvto use the forward lmg. For the US remember most squads would be below paper strength. Also not every recon jeep crew had mortar they were used primarily for marking targets. The two depleted squads and m3 should work ok vehicles at close range will not last that long esp if the panzer grens have some panzerfaust

OK, so I can pretty happily drop the second MG from the 251, and run my two squads of four American soldiers with their scout cars for an epic skirmish. Now I just need to stat out some Italian Carabinieri and their Sahariana and I will be good to go...
Thanks for the input!
