Still painting up my forces to give SDS a real good go through, but one of my questions that has arisen from the contingent (400 pt) forces I'm putting together is 'How Many Leaders are you allowed to have per side in a game?' For example, I want to do a British Force using Highlanders, who are lead by an officer, but also have a few Chosen men with them (as skirmishers), and include an officer with them as well? Can I do that or are you allowed to have one officer (i.e. Leader) per force? From the rules I assume that only one can be the Leader, and the other an NCO? I was contemplating a contingent exclusively made of officers, who having been on the wine the night before stumble upon a small French foraging force whilst returning to camp. Please keep those force lists coming on your website Sergio. I can't paint them up as quickly as you post them but they've already got me looking at purchasing some Spanish and Bavarians to see how they play. ;D warm regards Blaxkleric www.fantorical.blogspot.com/

Not an official answer but if it fits the scenario do what you need to is always my first rule, the rules are only there as a framework.

That would be a special scenario. I think a squad composed only of officers makes little sense in the standard pick-up game since SDS works on the interaction between officer and troopers. But as Robert suggests, in special scenarios just use the point system as a rough reference and do what makes sense.

Blaxkleric,
1 Leader and 1 NCO are allowed in standard pick up games. In the case you mentioned, the Highlander officer has command over the entire squad, Chosen Men included.
However, for scenarios things may change and you can possibly do whatever you want, providing that it makes sense and it's... fun.
More ready made squads are coming (and rules for dismounting also:) Cheers Sergio

Blaxkleric, 1 Leader and 1 NCO are allowed in standard pick up games. sorry I don't understand ... I'm not contemplating a contingent exclusively made of officers but the question is : Can I use 2 NCO in a squad, one in place of the leader ? In an elite squad this one is important. thx PS nice the rules for dismounting but who know where buy 28mm dismounted miniatures? never seen ;D

You must have a *leader* in a Squad (Officer or NCO). You can play with an NCO and without an Officer (not wise IMHO). You cannot play with 2 Officers. You cannot play with 2 NCO. The long version of the above statements is on pages 20 and 23 of the english rules.... As usual, in a scenario you can change the rules as you wish. Dismounted troopers: in 28mm Perry plastic are about to be released (Dragoons), but in 15mm there are several figures available. Sergio
