SWLion and I played a great scenario we created on the fly using some SHIELD and Hydra agents. The terrain was set up before the game and after we chose sides we came up with a scenario and reason why Hydra was infiltrating the Loading Station. (I provided the terrain and SWLion brought the miniatures.)
The Scenario: Hydra has been secretly shipping parts for some diabolical engine they are building for one of the "take-over-the-world" schemes using public transportation systems. How else do you hide something but in plain sight. One of the key elements for their scheme has arrived at the Loading Station and they need to mark the container for a future pickup. Hydra knows that one of the containers near the middle of the Loading Station yard is holding the element but not sure which one. They must take a visual look at the four containers to determine which one it is, place a tracking beacon on it and then escape to bring the tracking beacon's signal to Hydra's HQ.
We used the tasks rules for the visual inspection and also based how many figures they needed to get off the board depending on how fast they found the correct container (fleeing off the board did not count). An agent would also need to spend one action placing the beacon on the container once it was identified:
1st container checked: Hard task (4 Hydra agents must get off the board).
2nd container checked: Medium task (3 Hydra agents must get off the board).
3rd container checked: Easy (2 Hydra agents must get off the board).
4th container: Automatic success but an agent must still spend an action to place beacon (1 Hydra agent must get off the board).
We decided that SHIELD was the attacker due to arriving after the Hydra agents. SWLion played the Hydra and I played SHIELD.
I won't be able to do a play-by-play but you can see how it played out by the end-of-round pictures taken during the game.
Setup:
1st Round:
2nd Round:
3rd Round:
4th Round:
5th Round:
6th Round:
7th Round:
8th Round:
9th Round:
End Game:
The Hyrdra agents found the correct container on the third one checked and needed to get two agents off the board to win. The last turn had the last SHIELD agent in sight of one of the last two Hydra agents. I rolled 3 dice for activations and failed all 3 dice rolls (needing 3's)!! Hydra won by taking it easy and rolling enough activations to move the two agents off the board. SHIELD will now have to double their efforts to find out what Hydra is planning!
It was a great game and I think the differences of FL vs. SBH clicked while playing and it played much smoother than the first game. We are looking foward to converting some Necromunda stuff over to get some games in the very near future.
