Beserk states that a figure with Beserk gets +2 C on first contact with an enemy (doesn't say first combat or first attack). I had a figure with Beserk make 3 moves to get in contact with the nearest enemy but could not attack (since the other part of Beserk is they are compelled to move into contact with an enemy). We played it that the Beserker would have the +2 C on the first combat between the Beserker and any other figure. It worked pretty good, since the enemy could move more figures into base with him on their turn to mitigate the +2 C and the Beserker could get a +2 C if he could get into contact and attack on his turn.
The Beserker ended up dying to a low C figure just because of all the negatives he had on him from surrounding figures and from being knocked down in a previous attack.
Out of curiosity, did we play Beserk correctly?
Thanks!

The first contact means the first combat roll made in that engagement, no matter if it is initiated by the berserk himself or his enemy/enemies. So I think you played it right. Sometimes berserkers are just overconfident or too impulsive and are cut up. It likely happened to the historical berserkers too...

Great! That's exactly what we figured and it worked out as expected since he was overwhelmed by numbers. Thanks for the answer.
