Hi,
Picked the rules up on Sunday from Calivier books, as Partizan, and am a little confused on the ranged combat modifiers;
Calculation for Shooter = Die Roll + Combat Value + Weapon Modifier + Ranged Fire Modifiers
Calculation for Target = Die Roll + Combat Value + Ranged Fire Modifiers
Q: Are the ranged fire modifiers in the above equations the same value? i.e. if a target is at 2-3 x range away and is behind cover, the modifier is -2. Does that get applied to BOTH the shooter and the targets?
If not, how do the calculations vary?
Many thanks,
FR

Glad you got it at Partizan ... I enjoyed the show and spent way too much! The modifiers apply mainly to the firer although we had to put it for both calculations because of the -1 to the target for the aimed shot. The range modifiers talk about the 'target' being x times away which means it applies only to the firer. Note the target does not add any weapon modifier. Ooo and of course they use their combat value. So a C3 firer with an M16 (+2) fires at 2 1/2 long (-1) at a concealed C2 target (-1), but they use one action to make it an aimed shot. Calculations would be: Firer 3+2-1 -1 PLUS die roll (lets say 3) = 6 Target 2-1 (for aimed shot) PLUS die roll (lets say 4) = 5 Firer won - didn't double so target isn't Out of Action but they won on an even die roll - so target is shaken, they drop prone and get a shaken marker. Hope that helps It plays a lot easier than it reads above, in demo games we use a big dice to keep track of the C value as the modifiers are applied then roll a die and add them - seems to be easier for people to follow that way
