Does it take an action to do a spotting check?

When does the spotting check take place?

Can a model regain the stealth advantage after being spotted? The rules only mention regaining stealth after shooting a noisy weapon.

No - its free in the core rules ... for scenarios involving special forces and guards etc we have a scenario rule that it is an action to 'check' a Long piece of terrain.

Whenever appropriate but only once a turn.

Yes they can so long as they move to a new position like in firing (if they survive the being spotted in the first place!)

You might like prescriptive threads but when they are multiple questions on the same theme it is a pain in the A** to answer when they are spread about on different threads
