hi weapon locker pag 49 + army lists 1) how the light mortar work? I don't understand "roll 1-4 dice, 4 being max". no soldiers from your army lists use this so here will be nice to have some point cost also, like the benelli or 30mm cannon. 2) same for HMG .50 Browning also here is present in the list only on vheicles. no points cost for crewed defensive emplacement. 3) GMG I don't understand exactly how it work. for example some range penalties to 12, and what mean "to model a number of grenades landing anyone etc". Does it mean that there are multiple-grenades? And where the grenades landing? 4) taliban pkm lmg, the profile is in FL basic rules (GPMG LMG), is it right? 5) taliban tier two RPG are different from taliban tier one RPG7, the first is the RPG Panzerfaust WWII profile from FL basic rule, is it right? 6) ISAF: drum fed lmg are the Minimi and the bel fed post 1945 are the LSW/GPMG both from pag 49? So have we to use the new profile for both? 7) in the army list I see soldiers with LAW (rocket launcher). LASM is it the same, so I can use both the shell, one for AT and one for AStrucure, just to choose before fire or have I to use 2 different soldiers? LASM is same point cost as LAW? 8) what is the use for M4 Carabine in this theatre of war? No soldiers in your list use it thx in advance

Hi 1/ like grenades the mortar has a dice rolled per range band but in the case of the mortar it has a max of 4. Can't fire less than 2 of course The army lists are typical examples within the limit of the pages ... the mortar and benelli shotgun would be handed out on a needs be basis in some armies. The actual make up of the squad will slightly differ and people can use actual orbats to help them model the nature of the army of choice. Point wise, they are not given because the 'worth' would depend on the scenario so it is impossible. If you want to use them in pointed games I'd give the light mortar 45 points and the benelli 25. 2/ the 30mm and the 50 cal would either be on vehicles or defensive 'sangars' - would be scenario driven so no points given in books - 50cal is 45 points. 3/ The GMG fires multiple grenades very quickly - it would be very hard to model the tracking of the grenades and at most times they are just hurled into the same place - so the effect is more than a normal grenade. 4/ Yep 5/ Should be the same thing - the '-7' was missed off 6/ Yes 7/ LASM is the version of the LAW for structures - it is different. Most groups would take anti structure in Afghanistan as they will not be firing at vehicles on the whole. 8/ The M4 is favoured by special forces as it is lighter etc - it is in the lists for the purists really is it didn't have as many choices of fire rate. Hi 1/ like grenades the mortar has a dice rolled per range band but in the case of the mortar it has a max of 4. Can't fire less than 2 of course we tried tu use the mortar last evening we don't understand why you say range 2-12 long and after that I can use only max 4 dices=4 long stick .... another question: can the mortar fire without LOS? I think is possible (is the role of the mortar). Have I to consider the mortar firing without LOS a -3 speculative ? thx

Hi what it means is that after the 4 dice you never add any more no matter what the range is, in other words you can fire it ad far ad you like but never throw more than 4 dice to see how it deviates. It is a 'light' mortar and usually needs line of sight or a spotter, use three worse quality for rounds which have no Los and first round of fire if using a spotter.

the minimum first 2 long are free?
example I use only one quality roll if I target the first "useful" range that is the 3rd long stick from the firing model
is it right or have I to roll 3 Quality dices?

Its basically a strong grenade thrower and the mechanism is the same - you have to fire it at least 2 long (not possible to fire at shorter ranges) from then on it is the number of dice per Long BUT up to a maximum of 4. So if you fire it 3 long it is 3 dice Quality check ... at 4+ Long it is 4 dice Quality check.
