I have spent a few hours in front of the profile maker trying to create zombies and other gribblies from the Resident Evil series that work.
Apart from the obvious fact that everybody should be a personality because of Fear , my gut impression on a zombie is something like:
Points 45 Quality 4+ Combat 3
Fear, Short move, Steady under fire, Dashing.
Fear must be there, as Steady under fire (representing the way non-lethal hits are unlikely to keep them down). Some films have slow moving zombies, some films have fast moving ones, but those from the videogame are pretty slow.
Dashing is pretty essential to make sure zombies attack whenever they come into combat with anything.
What then? Strong? Body Armour? Or should I just move to C4? All in all zombies are fairly resilient, but with C4 they'd become a bit too strong perhaps.
Moving to some proper gribbly, the Licker:
Points 128 Quality 2+ Combat 4
Special Rules Climber, Dashing, Fear, Long Move, Steady Under Fire
These are really badass creatures and pretty hard to put down with anything smaller than a grenade launcher or magnum pistol. Again, Fear and Steady under fire should be compulsory for any bio-weapon.
The Triphyd (acid plant thingy):
Points 94 Quality 3+ Combat 3
Special Rules -Sawn-Off Shotgun*, Fear, Slow, Steady Under Fire, Strong
*Of course it's not a shotgun but the acid spray.
The hellhound (zombie dog thingy):
Points 72 Quality 3+ Combat 3
Special Rules Dashing, Fear, Running Blow
Of course, it hasn't got the sheer bulk of the other (no Steady under fire), but Dashing and Running blow seem a pretty fair representation to me.
I still get the feeling that the lack of weapons don't make them as scary as they should be in combat, though.
Opinions?
