Some photos of my warband as completed so far. Badger, generally the leader of my small warbands The Warband responsible for the beating dished out to the Rebels in my battle report from July One of the Tassletail Brothers - nearly finished, just need to base and tidy up mistakes on the tartan And finally, after 25 years of painting toy soldiers, I'm trying to get a grip on NMM... although quite why I decided to start it on a centimetre and bit's worth of Plate Mail Badger is beyond me. Not really happy with him, so may strip and repaint at a later date. Got the rest of the Squirrels to finish off, then the Otters, some Shrews, Badger lords, and some more Mice... and a Mole, a Hedgehog, and some other randoms... ;D

Great work. I've never had a go at tartan, is it as difficult as it looks?.

Fantastic job mate! They are great figures to paint up. I'm in the midst of them myself. Wind in the Willows at the moment. Love the colour scheme you used for the mice. Also, I never thought of using orange on the hares, but they look great too! Cheers, Ben.

Cheers guys. Tartan - quite easy really. Green base coat, don't highlight (not on this size miniature anyway) Then blue latice - keep the blue and green reasonably close shades. Again, don't highlight. Now highlight the green squares Now highlight the blue where the lines cross Then thin red line latice over the green squares Then same for blue using white line, but missing alternate blue cross overs The visual trick is to use a well diluted mix to keep the red and white lines faint As per the pattern in the middle at the bottom www.jenova.dk/Tartan.htmThe hare is more red - a mix of the camera/light, and the dark red Badger makes him look orange. Colour schemes - I find it difficult not to constantly end up with shades of green for the rodents... The Wind in the Willows I'm looking forward to getting (once I order them)... I'll be doing them in the correct English landed gentry style with tweeds and browns and yellows.

Very nice work, dunk. Those look great!
I have many SLM figures, but most are from the Historical lines. I am tempted to try some of these.
