first Up hello and just want to say that I'm enjoying SOBH (primarily Fur & buttons).
I've mostly played fur and buttons scenario's which are a little different to playing with warbands against the core SOBH rules. I introduced a few friends to the game and we had in effect an all in brawl using 6 warbands. I'm the first to admit, as this was a first game for a fair chunk of us the warbands were a little random and the game is designed for 1v1. However we seemed to encounter a few issue's and I just wanted to get some thoughts on what we might have been doing wrong or could do differently.
~ We seemed to have problems killing each other, lots of falling and recoiling but it was very difficult to double each others combat totals (is that right?) to outright kill and most often a fallen model would stand back up in the next turn that player had.
I'm pretty sure I've interpreted the rule correctly. For HTH you both roll a d6 and add that total to your mini's combat value and then compare the totals if one is x2 the other it's a kill if it's 3x it's a gruesome kill, did I get that right?
~ One of the guys took an Adult dragon, For those of us using more normal stuff such goblins/kobolds/humans we pretty much couldn't touch the dragon. It moved to fast had flying so we couldn't trap it and had a quality of 2+ so I don't think it ever missed an activation as he effectively needed to roll ones to fail. (it also had tough) How do you handle this situation in the game massed archers? help?
we all had a heap of fun playing and please don't take the above criticism, just wondered if there were any tips for the above
