Today a friend of mine turned up with a mortar crew he found on the Internet ;D .
Nice figure, but how to squeeze it in the game?
Hearts and minds has the profile for a light mortar
L9A1 (51mm Light Mortar) C+4/3/1, Grenade Laucher up to 2-12 long (roll 1-4 dice, 4 max)
however, this is a big proper mortar, so I thought something in the lines of a bazooka firing HE with the "max range 2 medium" point deduction to be treated as "MIN range 2 medium", Crewed weapon, 3 action set-up and not requiring LOS.
Crewed mortar Points:23 3 Action Set Up, Anti-Tank 3, Crewed, Grenade Combat 3, Max Range 2 Medium, Priming Needed, Range: Long
It still comes pretty cheap because of the combat 3 value, but since bazookas and RPGs only have C2 in HE firing I didn't want the mortar to be twice as good (I've never been fired at by either, mine is pure speculation).
Opinions?

I didn't put big mortars into the rules as basically the I wanted the rules to have, as close as possible, realistic effective ranges (which is why very few things have a max range) - a large mortar could not fire short enough (safely) to use on a normal table. Also as they are normally barrages not just one mortar round they would probably effect most of the table.
However if you want to use it on table I'd keep it as you have it but throw in a real random element to the landing point to avoid sniping with it ...

Perhaps it would make a good "objective marker," instead of a playing piece.
