Looking nice so far. I hope to provide a battle report this weekend. I will, so long as I get a game in.

How did you do initiative and reactions solo? Just curious as there seems to be many different ways people do this.

How did you do initiative and reactions solo? Just curious as there seems to be many different ways people do this. Depends on the scenario. This one, Red Soldier was the leader with the best quality, so I always rolled three die for his activations and rolled for him first (he is the leader). Their goal was to cross the board and exit through our starting area. That would represent his success in getting these mutants to join his gang. The others I rolled two die for their activation. For decisions on what actions they take, whether move or attack or a combination, I have a home made chart. Since the goal was to move across with the mutants, him moving/disengaging was favored more than attack. I roll one d6 for the chart. Sometimes a d10 again, depending on the scenario. My teams goal was obviously to stop him. Obviously to start the game, I rolled normal initiative between the two teams. My team moved first. Do you play solo and what suggestions do you have. I also have picked up on many ideas from other places. I am open to many ideas and am constantly looking.

I would like to play solo. Or with people. Or both. Time prevents me from doing any form of playing however. I do like reading rules sets and seeing how others play their games. I think I might be able to start something up again in the near future though.

Not much overhead in setting up and army building, and intuitively simple rules with a surprising amount of tactical depth give you a lot to work with.

In your pics, are you using corkboard for the ruined walls? If so, I thought that they created an interesting look. They almost look like rock walls.

The focus can be on the depth of the story and characters, but also allow for depth in tactical decisions, like you said. I do get to game with others, unfortuantely they are more into Heroclix. I'm just coming out of that game. It can be fun and has it's place, but SBH is just so much better. I am trying to get them to use their Clix miniatures and try out SBH. In the meantime, I'm learning the rules and such playing out solo campaigns and a little rpg along with it.

I got that idea recently from TMP (theminiaturespage.com). Cheap and quick. I'm just learning to do basic 3d terrain and make it as cheap as possible. I used double sided tape to make them stick together at the corners. I haven't painted them yet. That would hide the tape better, but I was afraid I'd lose the "rock" look that they had. I may just try to paint the tape that is showing with a little bit of brown paint. Suggestions? I'm new and learning. The thing I am really enjoying about this hobby and miniature gamers in general is how supportive and helpful they all can be.

I tried to get my comic shop to switch over to SBH, FF, or Super System during the Clix hiatus. That went over like a lead balloon. Clix players tend to be pretty set in their ways. I have tons of clix and I used to play Mage Knight and Heroclix. We gave that up looking for some more depth to games. Now that I've found stuff, my group and I don't really have the time. I really like making characters even if I never use them.

Nice report and like the use of the corkboard for walls. Instead of double-sided tape, maybe you could use some Elmer's wood glue to join the pieces together. With some careful application, you wouldn't even need to paint them.
