Just wondering what your 'norm' is ... now my mate and I being somewhat psychopathic tend to almost always go for 3 no matter what really ... unless it is desperate we have to carry on etc. Working down from most important to least. But I did notice in our gaming group various tendencies ... some people rarely risk 3 no matter what, some always go for 2 and at least one person always rolls 1 die until the last character when they roll 3 ... so was wondering about other groups?

My daughter and I never roll just one. We tend to roll two with our heroes all the time (since they get one all the time), and I roll two with just about everyone else. She usually wants to roll three with her dragon even though it's a 3+.
Powerful attacks and aimed shots are not to be scoffed at. You should just about always roll at least two dice.

As a rule for me, if the quality is 2 or 3 I'll role three dice, 4 I'll roll two, and a 5 or 6 I'll roll one.

^Same as charger3604bbl above^.Although if losing badly or an isolated figure we roll 3 in desperation, sometimes they pull it off which makes the game more fun.

I have to say on our last campaign night (Tuesday) I rolled two dice most of the time.
Didn't do me a whole lot of good, I still had turnovers often and early in my turns. I had to buy new dice...

It doesn't seem to matter how many dice I roll, they mostly come up 1.

For me it is moslty situational. I will roll 2 most of the time, but if I am in a bad spot or I have a model with a 2+ or 3+ quality, I may roll 3. Harldy ever roll just 1 unless they are a 5+ or 6+. I think that is one of the best features of the game. It allows for flexibilty throughout the whole game.

I almost always roll 3, unless I feel I have been having bad luck, then I'll go with two. I may go with two (or one) if I am already adjacent to a foe, and no I won't be able to use 3 actions.

on actition 2+ (elite, leader etc) always 3 dices mandatory in my opinion (elite and 2+ mean always few pieces on the table) on action 3+ usually 2 dices but al lot of time is better risk 3 dices (situational) last game my squad on average 3+ never moved with 2 dices more than 3-4 men befor pass (bad lucky), my friend same squad activation always 90% of the squad move ...lucky but he uses often 3 dices and in the right moment...and clear victory! a lesson for me: the good player know when to use 3 dices instead of only 2 dices ;D and remember if you risk often yo will have Fortuna in your side PS I play SDS

I've learned the hard way not to roll 3 all of the time (even if figure has a Q:3). I think the activation roll is pretty strategic. Early in the game, when there is a lot of positioning with group moves I will risk three dice on a group move activation (on a Q of 3 up). Later in the game it depends on the situation. I don't want to hand the turn over to my opponent on a bad roll and leave myself open for losing figures. I'll roll 2 dice early, saving the key figures to the end of the turn where I will risk 3 dice. Of course, with Q:2 figures, it's easy to get away with rollng 3 dice.

HI We had a 4 player game last night . One player J had 3 figures all Q3. In seven game turns he managed to roll ; 1 out of 3 successes 0/3 1/3 3/3 then 0/3 0/2 0/3 2/3 2/3 which means out of 7 rounds he only had a total of 8 activations now thats bad dice rolling Dex
